Applications Now Open: Learners Fellowship | Teach UX Research Product Design
Update May 21 2021: Applications for the Learners Summer Fellowship are now closed. Huge thanks to everyone who applied!
You can now apply to join the Learners Fellowship for summer 2021! If you’ve ever wanted to share your skills in UX research, product design, or product management, this is your chance.
We’re working with our Fellows to produce 8-10 episode series diving deep into some super value areas of tech work.
The deadline to apply is Thursday May 20, 2021 at 4pm eastern time.
What is the Learners Fellowship?
The Fellowship is a quick and easy way for our team to support creators in producing an 8-10 episode series on a specific topic.
A great example of a topic would be “Hiring Your First Researcher”. In this example, the series could be broken down into the following episodes:
- How do you know that you need a researcher?
- What to look for in a CV
- Building a great case study
Our team will be there to help you every step of the way and make sure you feel supported throughout.
Who are we looking for?
First and foremost, we’re looking for any practitioners and content creators who want to support the growth of learners everywhere. But to be specific, we’re looking for folks in these categories:
- UX Research
These are the main disciplines we’re looking to fill right now, but we’re open to reviewing applications on any topic! If you’ve developed a strong, unique point of view about something that you think can push your discipline forward, we’d love to hear from you.
- New to the discipline
- Seasoned practitioners and experts
New to the discipline: If you just landed your first or second professional role, we want to hear about what it took to get there—and so do many others! We want to hear about why you pursued the discipline you did (eg. product management, product design, UX research, marketing), how you went about doing it, and all of the missteps and successes along the way.
Seasoned practitioners and experts: Our community is hungry for any introductory content that lays the groundwork for particular disciplines. This could include what the role looks like in practice, methods, tooling, processes—anything foundational to successful work in the discipline.
It’s a rare gift to get a glimpse of how the experts practice their craft, and we’d love to help you give that gift.
We hate to be full of ourselves—but we don’t mind bragging about our amazing creators! New fellows will be joining a roster of incredible leaders like Mailchimp’s Director of UX Research Patti Carlson, Spotify’s Senior User Researcher Colette Kolenda, RBC’s Director of Design Research Sarah Wittman, and many more.
If you know any creative folks in tech with an idea to share, please share this post with them. We’d really appreciate it!
